Shepherd's LightHouse

Nurturing Homeless Mothers and Children

Program Information

The Shepherd’s Lighthouse  assists homeless children and their mothers in Marion County . This community service will provide temporary housing for up to 4 single mothers and 8 children . Since 2004 we have served 84 mothers and children and have successfully moved 68 mothers and children into independent living. To date 61 of the 68 are still living independently.

Before being admitted,  the potential residents must submit to a screening process and a background check. Once they have been approved, they will be asked to make a commitment to the program. Upon admission to the program the family will begin to redirect their lives toward independence.
